The Real Skills You Should Have When Pleading the Blood of Jesus

  • Reading time:10 mins read

If you grew up in Pentecostal circles as I did, chances are you heard and used the term “I Plead the Blood of Jesus.” However, some people in the church world today don’t understand the phrase or bring it into question. Over the years, I learned the real skills you should have when Pleading the Blood of Jesus.

While growing up in a Pentecostal church. I heard “ I Plead the Blood of Jesus” but I didn’t have a full understanding. I started using it because I heard it and it seem to work for the ones that were using it. So I did the same thing. It is amazing how we grow up in certain environments and we take on the belief or the nature of something. I believe the same principle has worked for those of us in church. We have picked up habits in our church and all of them are not good ones, especially if we have not taken the time to understand the meaning behind it. I truly believe that’s why we are so divided today as a church and on religion. Whatever the reason we’re divided… This blog is not to tell you whether or not you’re in the right faith or religion. It’s to help you understand the meaning behind “Pleading the Blood of Jesus.”

First, let me say this loud and clear. You are not going to find “I Plead the Blood of Jesus” in the Bible. But, it doesn’t mean that the force behind the use of it is in vain. However, those who plead the Blood of Jesus often do so in the context of seeking victory over demons. And, demons do exist. You can see it in people and some of the crazy things that are going on in the earth today. There are some things you may have heard or read in the news and you have to say to yourself… “Are you kidding me?” This devil is a liar. Today, we are living in the last days. You really have to make your mind believe that God is still victorious over demons, and spiritual wickedness in high places.

Good case in point. I’ve been sitting in a place simply drinking tea, having lunch or talking to a friend and the enemy will bring evil on my mind. I immediately have to rebuke that thing. Or, Plead the Blood of Jesus against that demonic force that’s trying to entertain my mind. At one point, I would dwell on it. Then, wonder. Goodness! Where did that thought come from? Consequently, as I grew more mature in God’s word. I learned to cast down those thoughts. I didn’t want to dwell on them or their possibilities. As Christians, we have to be willing to train our mind not to dwell on those thoughts or entertain the what ifs. Although it’s true, our imaginations can be misused, especially if we have hit a terrible pit in our life or if we’re living our best life. Satan practices evil whenever there is opportunity.

Our responsibility is to practice thinking on things that are lovely and pure and of a good report. Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

In some cases, people have acted on thoughts because their pain is too much to bear or they don’t know that Jesus Christ is a healer. Nonetheless, Paul emphasizes a different spiritual concept for every Christian to prevent believing in lies. Satan lies. Point Blank! There is no way around it. He is an accuser of the brethren.

Casting down imaginations is a practice. It’s hard work. But you’ve been given weapons and they have been placed in your hands and mouth. Actually, what does it mean to cast down imaginations (2 Corinthians 10:5-6)? Paul in this scriptures is utilizing the divine weapons, not weapons according to human standard or flesh. Flesh never wins the battle. Paul used the weapon of the word of God to win against Satan. We have to do the same because our human flesh is too weak. The scripture says, “We destroy arguments and qevery lofty opinion raised against the knowledge of God, and take every thought captive to robey Christ, being ready to punish every disobedience, twhen your obedience is complete.”

Check this out…

Some months ago I received a email from a person that worked with me years ago, apologizing for murdering my name. They proceeded to tell me that they were involved in many conversations about me and that they were clueless about what had happened. They simply felt compelled to participate at the time because it was the right thing to do and they didn’t want to feel out of place.

Thank God… I’m “Covered” by the Blood of Jesus. Therefore, I’ve learned how to “Plead the Blood of Jesus” in situations that’s to great for me.

Satan is called “the Accuser of the brethren”, and he is accused of the crime of deceiving the world. Revelation 12:9 and 10. Concerning Satan, the Lord Jesus Christ said; he was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own; for he is a liar, and the father of it. John 8:44.

Here’s a very interesting question that is asked in the Word of God, “who can lay anything to the charge of God’s elect?” Romans 8:33. No child of God, especially those who are Christians. Since, you’ve witnessed what God can do in the spirit. You should be exceedingly careful about laying anything to the charge of God’s elect, especially if the charge is based on hearsay evidence. You should always heed 2 Corinthians 2:10 and 11. You should not be ignorant of Satan’s devices, forgiving rather than accusing.

Now, back to the email I received. I was asked to forgive them because they had made false accusations against me. Then, explained that it was done on hearsay evidence. [I cried at my seat]. Not because they tried to justify me. I cried because I knew God had touched their heart to ask for my forgiveness. I was honored and humbled they asked.

The email was simple. “Forgive me! I was out of order and my character was not of God.”

I wrote back… “All is forgiven. I forgive you.”

During the course of what I was going through, I learned to Plead the Blood of Jesus over my mind. I was so angry. In spite of that anger, I didn’t want to think ill-will against anyone. I didn’t want to become angry and act out of character about what God was taking me through. I remained faithful to the word and every time Satan attack my mind. I cast down his thoughts, images and the imaginations that were trying to be planted in my mind and brought them into the obedience of God’s word.

I set my mind free, first. Then, I Plead the Blood of Jesus.

Subsequently, Pleading the Blood of Jesus is a way of taking up the authority of Christ over the spirit world and announcing to the forces of darkness that they are powerless. Some base this aspect of Pleading the Blood on Revelation 12:11, “They triumphed over [Satan] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”

Let me ask you a question now… I simply can’t wait.

Excuse me…

Are you even talking back to Satan when he is planting those horrific thoughts in your mind?

Are you even opening your mouth…?

If not, why not?

Some of the things that he brings to our mind… is so God awful! It’s too embarrassing to even mention. That’s demonic. And, the Blood of Jesus must be applied to those fiery darts.

In closing, when you hear people talking about “Pleading” the Blood of Jesus.” They are not talking about “begging.” They are not using it out of desperation. We don’t have to beg God for anything. And if you haven’t heard Pleading the Blood of Jesus before you’ve heard something similar. Many use “Father God, we come under the Blood of Jesus.” Or, “Lord, we cover this matter with the Blood of Jesus.” Whichever way it’s being used, there is belief in the power of the Blood, because Jesus is the Son of God and the Cross was the instrument of global redemption which broke the power of sin over us.

Pleading the blood of Jesus is not a magical formula of words. Rather, a power that saves, releases, delivers, and neutralizes the demonic forces of hell and the weaknesses of the flesh. Pleading the Blood of Jesus in tough situations is intended for every believer to employ at all times. It’s not a formula. It is a powerful weapon that can be used to win against Satan.  Buy Now! 👇🏾
