Is it that hard to find my purpose in life? Yes, it can be a difficult task sometimes. Have you ever started working on a project and you got to a place where you thought there’s no use even trying anymore? The project has become too big for you to complete. And, you tell yourself you can’t do it alone.
Or,
Have you ever felt so overwhelmed by your circumstances and felt like you couldn’t take one more step? And you tell yourself, you might as well give up and just quit.
Or,
Have you ever worked all day, very hard, and at the end of the day you couldn’t see any visible results of your labor?
Well! That happens in life for many of us.
We can go through life feeling like we are making some type of headway, but we soon discover after a few months; we haven’t made any progress. This can be so frustrating. But, if our relationship with God is right. God helps us through the frustration and puts us back on track.
Let’s examine our relationship with God. We can start out praying, fasting and seeking God’s face on certain matters in our lives. Then, we wake up months later to find out that God hasn’t done anything about our current situation. Therefore, we become discouraged and feel like giving up. We’re all going to have those moments of feeling like giving up. If we could only get our vertical relationship right, trials and disappointments would come over so much easier.
The life we live in the flesh for Christ makes everything so much easier.
In addition to feeling overwhelmed, we have to practice our relationship with God every day. Yes, I said, “Practice our relationship with God every day.” Many people talk about a relationship with God, but it didn’t just happen. They had to practice along the way until they got it right.
They had to learn to devote time to reading, praying, fasting, and seeking God’s face to name a few. However, over time, they got it. For some, it’s still not an easy task, but it’s one worth practicing every day.
You know your vertical relationship is growing when you don’t become so frustrated when you have a few unproductive days. You pray and ask God to intervene amid those feelings, and you proceed even stronger the next day.
Now, if you haven’t found God vertically, (which is your relationship with Him). You’re not going to be mentally healthy to deal with anything horizontally. Family. Friends. Co-workers. And, so on. When we get this right, we don’t have to worry about our relationship being off-kilter.
How Do I Seek God’s Kingdom First?
The importance of seeking first the kingdom of God, His righteousness, then all of these things will be added unto you. God is the giver of life (1 Timothy 6:13; John 10:10). In God, we find purpose, meaning, and satisfaction. We were created to have a relationship with God. If we do not seek God, how can we know Him? Apart from seeking Him, how will we understand His great love and our purpose? God does not force Himself upon us. He woos us to Himself. He pursues us, and we seek Him.
We seek God because He has invited us to do so. Knowing God is a privilege. We seek Him through prayer, reading, worship, and fellowship. In seeking God, we come to know Him better and we bring glory to His name.
Today, our nation is facing a dilemma all because we have forsaken our vertical relationship with Him. God is sending us a message and calling for us to repent. And, return to Him. Psalm 127:1: Without the help of the LORD, it is useless to build a home or to guard a city. If we are not seeking God, everything we do is eventually going to become ruined. We see that today. As a nation, we have become to busy with our ways of doing things. That’s the reason we’re having so many problems, so many difficulties, and so many hardships.
God knows when we have exhausted our store of endurance. When our strength has failed, and the day is half done. He still provides the grace we need to endure a little longer. God’s grace has no measure. His power has no boundaries known unto men. For out of His infinite riches, He still giveth and giveth and giveth again each day.
Today, it’s unfortunate to watch mere men trying to do the work of God through their might and power. Proverbs 14:12 says, There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. God will allow man to work ceaselessly and never intervene.
Moreover, if men would believe–“Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?” Jeremiah 32: We have been trying too long on our own to move mountains of difficulty in our path. But, it seems like those mountains are still there.
When do we conclude that it’s just too much for us to bear? We can’t do it alone?
The time should be now!
We have reached the end of our hoarded resources. We now have to allow our Heavenly Father to begin His work and to do for us what we can’t do for ourselves.
As I’ve mentioned, seeking Him first acknowledges that we can’t do it alone. God steps in and does for us what we can’t do for ourselves. When He accomplishes His desires through our lives, great success is always the result.
At this point, all we can say is to God be the glory for the great things He has done.
Our Sufficiency is of Christ
You may have a mountain of rubble in your life, and you know that it needs to be removed. Perhaps, you have endeavored to remove that mountain of rubble for days, months, or even years. You know if you don’t get help moving this mountain. It going to continue to hinder your walk with the Lord so greatly. If you would just trust God right where you are, at this very moment, God is willing to work that miracle for you. He is willing to move that mountain that’s been defeating you. There is power on the inside of you. And, with his help, the mountain can be removed.
In conclusion, I’m encouraging you not to give up. But, give in to the power that God has provided for you. He’s your only choice.
True! The mountains you are facing; they are too big for you. You can’t move them. But God can. God had a purpose for man when he created the world. Nonetheless, we see a world suffering from the ravages of man’s rebellion against God. A world that is marred by sin. Our ultimate prayer should be for God to restore a world that was created for man’s divine purpose and to live in harmony with Him. Lord, help man to live in obedience to your will and restore Paradise to Earth.
God, sees man not living as he has intended. He also knows that man is at war with Him. And, as long as man is at war with Him. He will never have peace within himself.
In the Book of Isaiah says, But the wicked are like the troubled sea, when it cannot rest, whose waters cast up mire and dirt. Lord, as we’re in a war with you on the inside, help us to repent so we can turn things around in our own lives.
There is a storm that is raging within us and we are racing to find that inner peace of mind. Lord, create in us a clean heart and renew a right spirit in us. Allow us to have peace and not strife and contention in our hearts towards one another.
Father, continue to call us to repentance and give us the strength to pray for our corrupt world and nation. We petition–Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
This thing we’re facing has created such hell on earth today. It’s all because man has despised and rejected God.
